處處黃蘆草(처처황노초) 곳곳에 누런 갈대밭

從來幽幷客(종내유병객) 유정 땅 나그네들

皆向沙場老(개향사장노) 모두 사막에서 늙어가네

莫學游俠兒(막학유협아) 유협한 사람들 배우지 말라

矜夸紫騮好(긍과자류호) 자류의 좋은 말 자랑하는 것을

Cicadas complain of thin mulberry-trees

In the Eighth-month chill at the frontier pass.

Through the gate and back again, all along the road,

There is nothing anywhere but yellow reeds and grasses

And the bones of soldiers from You and from Bing

Who have buried their lives in the dusty sand.
